प्राचीन काल से व्यापार का महत्वपूर्ण केंद्र रहा ये स्थान आरा-बक्सर रेलवे लाइन के समीप स्थित है I बिंहिया का बाजार एक बहुत बड़े क्षेत्र में फैले हुए सैकड़ों गाँवों के लिए मुख्य बाजार है I यहाँ रोजमर्रा के जरुरी सामग्री से लेकर, शादी-विवाह, पारिवारिक आयोजन, अनुष्ठान, कृषि बीज, उपकरण एवं यंत्र सब कुछ उपलब्ध हो जाता है I विभिन्न गाँवों से दुकानदार भी थोक खरीदारी के लिए यहाँ आते हैं I बिंहिया बाजार का रेल और सड़क दोनों मार्गों से अच्छा जुड़ाव रहा है I आरा से एन एच 30 द्वारा जगदीशपुर आकर, चौराहे से उत्तर लगभग 5-7 किलोमीटर के बाद बिंहिया पहुंचा जा सकता है I इसी प्रकार से आरा से बिहिया जाने के लिए दूसरा मार्ग एन एच 84 है I रेलवे स्टेशन के पूर्वीं गुमटी से दक्षिण, रेल पटरी के बगल के रास्ते पर 1 किलोमीटर पूरब दिशा में बढने पर महथिन माता का मंदिर स्थित है I शाहाबाद का ये प्राचीन मंदिर सदियों से लोगों के आस्था का केंद्र रहा है I दूर-दूर से लोग यहाँ पूजा-अर्चना और माँगलिक अनुष्ठानों के लिए आते हैं I
